Senior Software Engineer (Backend, AI): Building and optimizing high-load backend services and APIs using AWS Serverless technologies with an accent on Node.js, TypeScript, and microservices architecture. Location: UK based role – 1 day every other week in Manchester office. Work from anywhere up to 4 weeks a year.

What you will do
- Contribute to backend development of hirify.global Platform and APIs using AWS Serverless technologies (Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB) with Node.js and TypeScript.
- Write, review, and maintain high-quality code, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver complex technical tasks.
- Drive best practices in software engineering, including DevSecOps, CI/CD, and automated testing.
- Mentor and support engineers, fostering a high-performance culture.
- Identify and address technical debt, balancing feature development with long-term system improvements.
- Research and evaluate new technologies, contributing to technical strategy and aligning backend development with business objectives.
Requirements
- Solid experience with Node.js, TypeScript, AWS, and microservices for building scalable APIs and services.
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS serverless architecture (Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, EventBridge, Cognito, SQS/SNS).
- Comfortable with software design principles like SOLID and common design patterns.
- Ability to write and maintain Infrastructure as Code using CDK in TypeScript, with experience in CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions or AWS CodePipeline).
- Proficient in mentoring engineers, driving best practices, and making informed technical decisions.
- Effective communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
