TL;DR

Working Student AI/LLM Development & Prototyping (AI, LLM): Building and prototyping functional MVPs for AI-based features and tools with an accent on RAG pipelines, agent frameworks, and vector databases. Focus on integrating prototypes with internal APIs and datasets, evaluating LLMs, and refining requirements with engineering and product teams.

Location: Hybrid work possible from Brunswick or Munich. Must be enrolled at a university in Germany.

What you will do

• Build functional MVPs for AI-based features or tools, from prompt design to simple backend or frontend prototypes.
• Develop RAG pipelines and test various chunking, indexing, and retrieval approaches.
• Work with vector databases, embeddings, and metadata filtering.
• Design and test AI agents using frameworks like LangChain or LangGraph.
• Evaluate different LLMs for quality, speed, and cost depending on the use case.
• Integrate prototypes with existing internal APIs, tools, or datasets.

Requirements

• Enrolled in a Bachelor or Master program at a university in Germany.
• Practical experience with Python for scripts or small prototypes.
• Comfortable using AI models through APIs and libraries such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Hugging Face, LangChain or LangGraph.
• Curious about retrieval systems, embeddings, vector search, chunking, and agentic workflows.
• Able to work independently and explain results clearly.
• Good English skills.

Nice to have

• First experience with REST APIs, simple web development, or cloud basics.
• Docker knowledge.
• Interest in the space domain or NewSpace startups.
