Software Engineer (AI/Distributed Systems)

TL;DR

Software Engineer (AI/ML): Designing and implementing distributed training systems for machine learning models with an accent on providing state-of-the-art online advertising platform and service. Focus on solving challenging problems in user response prediction, autobidding, and large-scale ML training & serving systems.

Location: Must be based in China and commute to a designated Microsoft office at least four days per week if living within a 25-mile radius.

What you will do

• Design and implement distributed training systems for machine learning models with trillions of parameters.
• Develop and deploy streaming training and publishing solutions for large-scale machine learning models.
• Analyze metrics from offline and online testing to identify opportunities.
• Deliver robust, scalable solutions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related technical field and 2+ years of technical engineering experience.
• Proficiency in C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
• Quick learning, solid problem-solving, and debugging skills.
• Fluent in English (oral and written).

Nice to have

• Master’s Degree and 3+ years experience OR Bachelor’s Degree and 5+ years experience.
• Experience with machine learning, LLM, or TensorFlow/PyTorch distributed training.
• Domain knowledge of ads, search, or content services.
