Embedded Engineer (Firmware)

TL;DR

Embedded Engineer (Firmware): Implementing and debugging embedded firmware designs for PACS RFID access control products with an accent on C/C# development and hardware interaction. Focus on solving challenges in real-time operating systems and low-level protocol communication for global security solutions.

Location: Cardiff, UK. Occasional international travel may be required. Must be legally eligible to work in the UK.

What you will do

• Implement embedded firmware designs and test solutions primarily in C and C#.
• Create design documentation.
• Work hands-on with and debug embedded systems.
• Effectively manage time to support work on a variety of products.
• Collaborate with colleagues from different departments, both onsite and overseas.

Requirements

• Engineering degree or equivalent, or suitable experience.
• Minimum of 1+ years of related industry experience.
• Ability to write low to medium complexity coded solutions.
• Experience with embedded C, bare metal, and RTOS applications.
• Comfortable working at a low level (e.g., GPIO, UART, SPI, I2C).
• Able to demonstrate experience with software version control.

Nice to have

• Experience with Smart Card ISO7816 and RFID ISO 14443/15693 protocols.
• Implementation experience of cryptographic solutions.
• Jenkins automation server/client programming.
• NUnit test framework.
• Scripting languages e.g. Python.
• CMock unit testing.
