Location: This position is a hybrid role, with 2 days/week (Wed & Thurs) on-site required in our Princeton, NJ, USA office.

Salary: $192,000–$225,000 USD (yearly base)

What you will do

• Lead and manage a team of engineers while directly contributing to code and architecture.
• Drive architectural decisions and help define the long-term technical vision for the hirify.global Med platform.
• Partner with cross-functional stakeholders across product, clinical, and operations teams to deliver impactful and scalable solutions.
• Balance hands-on coding (30%), architecture design (30%), and people leadership (40%).
• Support career growth for your reports through regular coaching, feedback, and mentorship.
• Ensure quality, security, and performance best practices across our systems.

Requirements

• Extensive experience as a backend software engineer.
• 2+ years as a tech lead/team lead.
• 1+ years of experience formally managing an engineering team, ideally in a Java/backend environment.
• Strong platform and architectural skills, with backend expertise.
• Proven ability to lead complex technical projects involving many stakeholders.
• Excellent communication skills, especially in translating technical ideas to non-technical partners.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of FHIR.
• Experience with EMR systems.
