What you will do

• Design and build end-to-end product features across Java services and the React frontend.
• Implement reusable React components and screens, wire them to APIs, and ensure a smooth, performant user experience.
• Work with existing PHP systems and help shape their evolution and integration into the new architecture.
• Model domains, define boundaries, and contribute to architectural decisions.
• Own your work beyond delivery, including build pipelines, observability, and production behavior.
• Improve performance, reliability, and security as the platform scales.

Requirements

• 7+ years commercial experience as a Software Engineer.
• Strong full-stack engineering experience, including Java (or similar strongly typed backend language) and modern frontend development with React and TypeScript.
• Understanding of engineering fundamentals over specific frameworks.
• Fluency in Domain-Driven Design (DDD) concepts.
• Experience with modern engineering practices, including version control, CI/CD, containerised development, and cloud environments (AWS ideal).
• Clear, thoughtful communication, working well in a remote-first, async-friendly environment.
• Ability to work with a UK timezone overlap required.
