What you will do

• Design Java solutions for modernizing legacy COBOL applications using automated refactoring tools.
• Maintain and integrate Java support libraries and customize solutions.
• Build automation around software conversion processes.
• Write well-designed, testable code following Test-Driven Development practices.
• Collaborate with teams and occasionally provide coaching.
• Deliver solutions within fast-paced project lifecycles primarily on Windows and Eclipse-based environments.

Requirements

• Location: Must be able to work onsite in the United Kingdom (multiple cities listed).
• English: B2 level or higher required.
• 7+ years of Java development experience with frameworks like Spring, Guava, Apache Commons, and JPA.
• Experience with MVS, COBOL, JCL, and relational databases (SQL/ORM).
• Practical skills in CI/CD tools such as Git, Maven, Gradle, Docker, Jenkins, and Jira.
• Good command of Test-Driven Development methodologies.

Nice to have

• Experience with cloud technologies and Kubernetes.
