What you will do

• Lead design, development, and evolution of large-scale backend systems across multiple teams.
• Define long-term technical roadmap and architectural vision for key platform areas.
• Decompose complex business and system problems into scalable technical designs.
• Act as technical lead on cross-team projects ensuring architectural and quality standards.
• Mentor senior engineers and provide deep technical guidance.
• Drive innovation including adoption of AI and LLM technologies.

Requirements

• Location: Hybrid work based in Serbia (Belgrade, Nis, Novi Sad)
• English: Fluent proficiency required
• Expert-level Java and related frameworks knowledge.
• Experience with middleware services, relational and NoSQL databases, messaging systems.
• Proven ability to design and operate complex distributed systems at scale.
• Strong leadership skills with ability to influence technical direction across teams.
