What you will do

• Lead migration from legacy PHP 7.1 and Symfony 2.8 to modern PHP 8.x and Symfony 7+ architecture
• Drive technical decisions and define architectural standards
• Optimize platform performance including API response times and database queries
• Design and build scalable APIs for marketplace and inspection products
• Mentor developers and ensure code quality through reviews and knowledge sharing
• Scale infrastructure to handle growing traffic and new product lines

Requirements

• Location: Hybrid work model based in Serbia (Belgrade, Novi Sad, Nis)
• English: B2 level or higher required
• 6+ years backend development experience with PHP and Symfony
• Experience with technical migrations, performance optimization, and cloud infrastructure (AWS)
• Strong software architecture knowledge and mentoring skills
• Pragmatic use of AI tools to enhance productivity

Nice to have

• Experience with PHPUnit and automated testing
• Familiarity with modern frontend frameworks (React, Vue, Angular, Svelte)
• Experience with ElasticSearch, Redis, APM tools, and CI/CD pipelines
• Background in e-commerce or marketplace platforms
