Senior Engineer (Java/Kotlin)

What you will do

• Develop and maintain backend services handling approximately 7 million daily food and grocery orders.
• Drive best practices in development, architecture, deployments, stability, observability, and performance.
• Work with distributed systems and microservices using Java, Kotlin, and related frameworks.
• Collaborate with DevOps teams using Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Contribute to system reliability through participation in on-call rotations.

Requirements

• Location: Hybrid work model with presence in Berlin campus 2 days a week
• 5+ years of backend engineering experience with Java and Kotlin.
• Strong knowledge of distributed systems, microservices, and cloud platforms (GCP, AWS).
• Experience with DevOps tools and CI/CD pipelines.
• Proficiency in writing high-quality tests (unit, integration, E2E).
• English: B2 level or higher required

Nice to have

• Experience with performance optimization techniques and monitoring tools.
• Interest or experience in frontend technologies like ReactJS, Android, Flutter.
