Software Engineer (C++)

TL;DR

Software Engineer (C++): Maintaining features, diagnosing and fixing source code within Ninja Remote and Quick Connect suite, and contributing to new features across product lines. Focus on building and supporting embedded applications for Windows, MacOS, and Linux, and designing/developing high-availability mission-critical software systems.

Location: Remote from Germany (with hybrid option for Berlin office)

What you will do

• Diagnose and document customer support issues, including reproducing bugs with QA engineers.
• Identify and implement code fixes for bugs and regression issues, working with Senior Developers.
• Maintain and improve current applications, with an initial focus on embedded applications for Windows, MacOS, and Linux.
• Analyze products for client-focused usability satisfaction.
• Design and code new IT operations products.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent work experience.
• 2 to 5 years of C++ or C development experience.
• Experience with C++ Qt framework, including Qt Widgets and QML for cross-platform desktop/mobile development.
• Working with low-level APIs on two major operating systems (Windows XP-10, Mac OSX Cocoa, and Linux).
• Previous experience with Visual Studio, XCode, or QtCreator.
• Version control with Git and code review practices.
• Working knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) design principles.
• Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Nice to have

• Experience with JSON, JavaScript, or Java.
• Knowledge and experience working with AWS or a similar cloud service.
• Experience using SQL, Postgres, or MSSQL.
• Experience with networking and/or real-time voice and video data transmission applications.
• Previous experience with Valgrind, gdb, or CMAKE.
