AI Research Intern (AI)

TL;DR

AI Research Intern (AI): Designing and implementing AI and machine learning algorithms to improve hirify.global’s autonomous IT capabilities with an accent on developing and evaluating ML models for anomaly detection, threat identification, and performance optimization. Focus on analyzing large-scale endpoint data, building data pipelines, and contributing to intelligent systems in cybersecurity.

Location: Hybrid position. Requires in-person attendance several days each week in Durham, NC or Emeryville, CA. Must be authorized to work in the U.S. now and in the future.

Salary: Hourly rate: $55–$60 per hour.

What you will do

• Collaborate with data science and engineering teams to design and implement AI and machine learning algorithms.
• Develop and evaluate ML models across various use cases, including anomaly detection and threat identification.
• Analyze large-scale endpoint data to extract meaningful insights and develop predictive models.
• Assist in building data pipelines to efficiently process and analyze endpoint data at scale.
• Conduct exploratory data analyses and visualizations to inform product development decisions.
• Document research, methodologies, and results to contribute to hirify.global’s knowledge base.

Requirements

• Strong foundation in machine learning, data analysis, and statistics.
• Proficiency in Python and familiarity with ML frameworks and libraries (e.g., PyTorch, scikit-learn, TensorFlow).
• Experience working with large datasets.
• Knowledge in one or more of statistics, anomaly detection, machine learning, internals of large language models (LLMs), or Agentic AI.
• Currently enrolled Master’s/PhD degree candidate (3.5+ GPA) ideally studying Statistics, Machine Learning, or a related field.
• Graduating Spring 2027 or Fall 2026.
