What you will do

• Architect and develop backend services for data ingestion, search, indexing, and retrieval.
• Design and implement APIs and microservices for metadata management and secure access.
• Implement DevSecOps practices including CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code.
• Ensure system reliability and compliance with cybersecurity standards (RMF, NIST 800-53).
• Collaborate with data science, cloud, and frontend teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.
• Provide technical leadership through mentoring, code reviews, and best practices enforcement.

Requirements

• Active TS/SCI clearance and U.S. Citizenship required.
• Minimum 7 years of professional experience in backend, systems, or full-stack engineering.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related technical field.
• Advanced proficiency in Python and Go backend programming.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure (preferably AWS), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and DevSecOps tools.
• Knowledge of secure system design and compliance in federal or DoD environments.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting DoD, Intelligence Community, or federal agency missions.
• Knowledge of federated search, knowledge graphs, or data catalog technologies.
• Experience integrating machine learning or NLP models into data pipelines.
• Proficiency with data visualization and operational analytics frameworks.
• Background in model-based systems engineering or large-scale systems architecture.
