Lead Software QA Engineer (Automation)

Location: Hybrid, assigned to a hirify.global office in Edgewood, NY, Denver, CO, or Newark, NJ, with flexibility to work remote.

Salary: $120,000.00 – $130,000.00 USD annual

What you will do

• Define test strategies, suites, and cases with a strong focus on automation, improving existing processes and automated tools.
• Work closely with Software Engineers and Product teams to understand platform ecosystems and develop automated scripts for reusable components.
• Maintain and enhance existing Serenity automation framework and provide guidance on automation code to team members.
• Execute automated scripts, perform failure analysis, and assist with triage and resolution of issues across the platform.
• Lead onboarding for projects, train associates, and drive the conversion of manual tests to automated whenever possible.
• Develop and execute manual test cases where necessary and support manual testing during the transition phase.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience as a software developer, QA Engineer, or SDET.
• 6+ years of hands-on experience with Java, C#, Selenium, Serenity.
• 5+ years designing, implementing, and running test cases.
• 5+ years performing API functional testing.
• Proficiency in CI/CD integration and pipeline development (Jenkins, Spinnaker).
• Experience in Gherkin (BDD/TDD) using Cucumber/Jbehave.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of software engineering practices and agile approaches.
• Experience building or improving test automation frameworks.
• Proficiency in UI automation (Robot, Watir).
• Experience using JIRA, Xray or any relevant Test management tool.
• Experience developing utilities using Python or other scripting languages.
