TL;DR

Protocol Backend Engineer (Web3): Designing and deploying high-availability, secure solutions for on-chain finance and cross-chain liquidity management with an accent on API design, smart contract integration, and scalability. Focus on developing automated on-chain minting and stablecoin liquidity solutions, ensuring security and high availability.

Location: Remote. Preference for US, but would consider Europe if able to overlap with EST working hours. Hubs available in NYC or Berlin.

Salary: $180K - $250K with Equity/Token grant

What you will do

• Design and develop automated on-chain minting and cross-chain stablecoin liquidity management solutions.
• Deploy modern web applications, ensuring security, compliance, and high availability.
• Implement monitoring and alerting systems for high-uptime, low-latency user experiences.
• Promote engineering excellence and agile practices, ensuring timely project delivery.
• Mentor mid-level engineers, conduct code reviews, and foster knowledge sharing.
• Collaborate closely with finance experts, blockchain specialists, and designers.

Requirements

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience with strong proficiency in TypeScript and/or Rust.
• Advanced backend experience, proven history of building scalable RESTful and GraphQL APIs.
• Practical experience deploying and managing applications across multi-region cloud platforms, proficient with CI/CD and containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Basic understanding of smart contract development for EVM-compatible chains (and optionally non-EVM chains like Solana, Sui).
• Direct experience with DeFi applications (lending, derivatives, AMMs, stablecoins) and ability to design and implement complex on-chain financial logic.
• High level of autonomy, proactive problem-solver mindset, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Nice to have

• Prior experience with the Fireblocks API.
