TL;DR

Qa Engineer (Gamedev): Ensuring high quality of hirify.global' website and desktop application through functional and non-functional testing with an accent on user-focused test design and quality advocacy. Location: Remote within the UK or Europe

Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 (compensation adjusted outside the UK)

What you will do

• Raise risks, identify gaps, and advocate for quality throughout the development lifecycle.
• Own quality control by improving processes and aligning with product teams.
• Perform functional and non-functional testing across website and desktop app.
• Build and maintain automated end-to-end tests as part of CI/CD pipelines.
• Provide clear, actionable feedback to developers on feature behavior and edge cases.

Requirements

• Experience designing, writing, and executing test plans with critical thinking.
• Understanding of software development life cycles and active sprint participation.
• Foundational knowledge or exposure to automated testing tools with willingness to learn.
• A curious, skeptical tester’s mindset focused on real-world user impact.
• Strong communication skills to articulate quality concerns clearly.
• ISTQB Foundation Level certification.
• Must be located in the UK or Europe.
• No international visa sponsorship available.

Nice to have

• Experience using GitLab for issue tracking.
• Experience testing desktop applications.
• Experience with test automation tools, ideally Javascript/Typescript in Playwright.
• Understanding of games modding and knowledge of hirify.global.
