Data Engineer (Fintech)

What you will do

• Develop and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT workflows using Python, PySpark, and SQL.
• Manage and optimize data storage solutions in Snowflake and Data Lakes.
• Design and implement automated workflows with Azure Data Factory and manage containerized applications on OpenShift.
• Integrate data from multiple sources ensuring quality, integrity, and security.
• Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and stakeholders to meet data requirements.
• Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines and maintain documentation of data architecture and best practices.

Requirements

• Location: Must be able to work hybrid in Mississauga, ON, Canada
• Proven experience in MDM projects, preferably in financial/investment banking sector.
• Proficiency in Python, PySpark, SQL, Snowflake, Azure Data Factory, Kafka, and OpenShift.
• Experience with CI/CD tools and practices such as Azure DevOps or Jenkins.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
• Understanding of data governance and security policies.

Nice to have

• Experience with big data tools like Hadoop and Apache Airflow.
• Knowledge of DevOps practices and other cloud data services.
