Software Engineer (Mainframe)

TL;DR

Mainframe Software Engineer (Fintech): Designing and delivering new products and capabilities for payment processing systems with an accent on detailed user story creation, architecture review, and adherence to standards. Focus on developing and supporting complex program specifications, ensuring data accuracy, and actively participating in Agile Scrum methodologies.

Location: Hybrid (2-3 days in office), must live locally in Columbus, GA area.

What you will do

• Work within an agile scrum team to design and deliver new products or capabilities.
• Develop detailed user stories, acceptance criteria, screen mock-ups, and flow diagrams.
• Assist in gathering and verification of non-functional requirements and review architectures.
• Maintain project and system documentation.
• Design, create, and deliver moderately complex program specifications for code development and support.
• Perform and advise on testing, validation requirements, and corrective measures for complex code deficiencies.

Requirements

• Legally authorized to work for any employer in the United States without the need for current or future immigration sponsorship.
• Must live locally in the Columbus, GA area to work a Hybrid model (2-3 days in office).
• Experience in Agile/Scrum methodology and development of associated project artifacts (e.g., user stories, acceptance criteria).
• Proficiency in Cobol, IMS, and DB2 for Level II & Above candidates.
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Business, or related field; or a high school diploma with 2-4+ years of professional experience in coding, designing, developing, and analyzing data.
• Ability to collaborate openly within a mixed team and analyze problems to recommend approaches.

Nice to have

• Experience with IBM Rational Tools.
• Knowledge of IBM Mainframe System technologies including JCL, CICS, SQL, z/OS, Assembler, VSAM, XML, TSO/ISPF, and MQ.
• Familiarity with HP Non-Stop Utilities.
• Experience with IT Tools such as Easytrieve, CA-7, Metavante Custom Statement Formatter, Dialogue, Network Data Mover (NDM), Rational Developer of System z (RDz).
