What you will do

• Own the architecture of core pipeline tools for patch and vulnerability discovery, and release automation.
• Write production code in Python and Go, including backend services, CLI tools, and automation scripts.
• Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines on GitLab and GitHub.
• Define and prioritize the product roadmap for ELS Automation tools, balancing security needs with long-term technical health.
• Act as the primary contact for teams dependent on your tools, clarifying requirements and proposing pragmatic solutions.
• Lead and manage a team of 4-5 software engineers.

Requirements

• 8+ years of software engineering experience; 3+ years at senior/staff level.
• Recent, daily coding experience in Python and Go.
• Strong GitLab CI and GitHub experience (runners, pipelines, workflows).
• Solid Linux fundamentals: processes, permissions, shell, networking, packaging.
• Experience owning a product or tool end-to-end and building/communicating a roadmap.
• Excellent English — written and verbal communication skills.

Nice to have

• CVE/CVSS, vulnerability management, or backporting experience.
• Linux packaging (RPM, DEB) or language ecosystems (Maven, pip, Go modules).
• Practical use of LLM/AI tools in development workflows.
• Platform/enablement team background or prior tech lead/architect role.
