What you will do
- Design, build, and optimize large-scale distributed data processing pipelines using Scala and Apache Spark.
- Develop and maintain ETL/ELT workflows orchestrated in Airflow and Oozie.
- Ensure performance, scalability, and reliability of Spark jobs through tuning, partitioning, and memory optimization.
- Implement high-quality, testable code with strong unit and integration test coverage.
- Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and engineering teams to support analytics, AML/KYC, and regulatory reporting use cases.
- Monitor data quality, perform profiling, and manage schema consistency across datasets.
Requirements
- 5-8+ years of software development experience with Scala
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with big data technologies
- Proven experience working with large-scale data processing (multi-terabyte datasets)
- Background in financial services or RegTech (preferred).
- Experience working in Agile environments (Scrum, SAFe, or similar).
- English language proficiency for daily international interaction.
Nice to have
- Experience with the Quantexa platform.
- Experience migrating workflows from Oozie to Airflow.
- Knowledge of data governance and security best practices.
- Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and the ELK stack.
- Understanding of graph analytics and entity resolution techniques.
- Exposure to regulatory reporting and compliance systems.
