Senior Service Designer

TL;DR

Senior Service Designer: Designing and improving end-to-end public services by applying a holistic Service Design lens across technology, policy, process, and organisation, with an accent on delivering positive, measurable outcomes for citizens and the public sector. Focus on developing new service-centred approaches to complex challenges and ensuring critical services are cohesive, accessible, and efficient across all channels.

Location: Part-time remote within the UK. SC clearance required.

What you will do

• Apply a holistic Service Design lens to assure successful design and delivery of public services.
• Build service design maturity, facilitate the design process, and communicate complex decisions to senior stakeholders.
• Design, prototype, and test seamless (online and offline) services ensuring alignment of outcomes.
• Champion the practice of Service Design across hirify.global and the wider community.
• Build trust with clients and support the commercial team to win new work.
• Lead on developing and sharing good practice, and actively support the hiring and retention of expert Service Designers.

Requirements

• Expert in core Service Design tools including Service Blueprints, Ecosystem Maps, and Stakeholder Maps.
• Proficient with prototyping tools like Figma and the GOV.UK prototyping kit.
• Experience in championing the value and practice of Service Design internally and externally.
• Able to coach and mentor other designers and set Service Design standards.
• Skilled in mapping existing service landscapes, identifying user and business needs, and prototyping end-to-end experiences.
• Strong consulting skills, including understanding client ambitions, delivering analysis, and problem resolution.
• Required to undertake an SC clearance.
