What you will do

• Lead user research efforts, including discovery, synthesis, and documentation, across various methodologies.
• Design and implement complex, cross-disciplinary projects for government agencies, creating deliverables from sketches to high-fidelity prototypes.
• Communicate research and design vision to team members and stakeholders, collaborating to ensure implementation matches intent.
• Work with product managers and engineers to integrate AI-powered tools into the software design lifecycle for UX and code improvement.
• Contribute to the design and research practice within the company, assisting with outreach, recruitment, and business development efforts.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience as a UX researcher/designer collaborating with digital product teams.
• Ability to be autonomous, take initiative, and effectively communicate progress.
• Strong portfolio showcasing process and native product design work driven by quantitative and qualitative research.
• Proficiency in Figma and modern prototyping tools, with a strong understanding of human-centered design, interaction design, UI design fundamentals, and accessibility.
• Experience successfully collaborating in an Agile environment and experimenting with AI tools for software design.
• Must have lived and worked in the United States for 3 out of the last 5 years.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with the US Web Design System and Section-508/WCAG 2.1AA Accessibility requirements.
• Experience developing knowledge of complex domains and systems, particularly with government agencies.
• U.S. Veteran status is encouraged.
