What you will do

• Design and develop machine learning and deep learning models for search retrieval, ranking, and personalization.
• Work with state-of-the-art ML technologies and frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, and MLlib.
• Create metrics and design A/B test plans to evaluate model performance offline and online.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, product, and business stakeholders.
• Analyze large-scale structured and unstructured data using modern big data technologies.
• Produce reusable code and conduct peer code reviews following standard methodologies.

Requirements

• Location: Hybrid work in San Diego, CA, United States
• Advanced degree (Master’s or Ph.D.) in CS, Statistics, or Data Science specializing in machine learning.
• Experience designing and implementing large-scale search retrieval and ranking models.
• Proven track record delivering large-scale commercial ML products from conception to production.
• Proficiency in Python and familiarity with Scala or Java; experience with ML frameworks like TensorFlow and PyTorch.
• Strong communication skills to convey complex ML concepts to diverse stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Experience developing personalized search systems and applying LLMs in search or recommendation systems.
• Experience with cloud environments such as AWS and custom ML platforms.
• Experience with large-scale deep learning training and inference methodologies.
