What you will do

• Proactively identify and champion changes to tooling, workflow, and deployment strategies.
• Define, document, and defend engineering best practices, contributing code (30-40%) to set high technical standards.
• Translate product objectives into clear technical roadmaps and make justified decisions on direction and resources.
• Influence across teams, advocating for architectural solutions that benefit the entire platform.
• Provide direct line management, focusing on career development, performance evaluations, and mentorship for six developers.
• Drive operational efficiency, remove blockers, and ensure consistent sprint commitments.

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional experience in software development, including significant architectural contributions.
• Demonstrated ability to remain a highly effective developer while performing managerial tasks, contributing code and reviewing PRs credibly.
• Strong understanding of backend (PHP/Laravel) and frontend (Angular/Typescript) technologies for scalable web applications and REST APIs.
• Proven track record of assertive leadership, challenging senior stakeholders, and driving process improvements.
• Expert-level knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies, capacity planning, and risk management.

Nice to have

• Prior formal experience managing performance, career trajectory, and conducting annual reviews for direct reports.
• Experience working on large-scale, data-driven, SAAS web applications.
