Applied Scientist Intern (AI)

TL;DR

Applied Scientist Intern (AI): Designing and developing end-to-end AI systems, writing technical white papers, and creating roadmaps with an accent on new algorithm and model design, and deployment into production. Focus on solving complex business problems through machine learning, data mining, and statistical algorithms.

Location: This role may available across multiple locations in the EMEA region (Austria, Estonia, France, Germany, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Jordan, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Poland, Romania, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, UAE, and UK). These are not remote internships.

What you will do

• Own the design and development of end-to-end systems.
• Write technical white papers and create roadmaps.
• Drive production-level projects supporting Amazon Science.
• Work closely with Amazon scientists and other interns.
• Design new algorithms, models, or technical solutions.

Requirements

• Enrolled in a PhD or Master's degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Engineering, Operations Research, Statistics or related fields.
• Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language.
• Ability to work with diverse groups and cross-functional teams.

Nice to have

• Publications at top-tier peer-reviewed conferences or journals.
• Experience in designing experiments and statistical analysis of results.
• Experience implementing algorithms using toolkits and self-developed code.
• Experience in solving business problems through machine learning, data mining and statistical algorithms.
