Location: Onsite in Vancouver, BC, Canada or San Mateo, CA, United States (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday required)

Salary: $325,920—$388,180 CAD

What you will do

• Lead and mentor a world-class team of rendering engineers focused on core rendering pipeline, culling, dispatching systems, and graphics APIs (Vulkan, Metal, Direct3D, agc, OpenGL) OR lighting, shading, materials, global illumination, and post-processing.
• Act as a hands-on technical leader, providing guidance on architectural decisions and implementation.
• Partner with your team and other engineering leaders to define and execute the vision for the core rendering technology.
• Foster a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and open communication within the team.
• Help build and expand the rendering organization by attracting, interviewing, and retaining top-tier engineering talent.

Requirements

• 15+ years of rendering or graphics engineering experience, with a deep understanding of low-level rendering pipelines, GPU architectures (preferably mobile), and graphic APIs (e.g., Vulkan, Metal, DirectX), OR modern lighting techniques (e.g., PBR, shadowing, global illumination), material systems, and shading languages.
• 5+ years of experience in a technical leadership or engineering management role, with a proven track record of building, mentoring, and leading high-performing engineering teams.
• Strong C++ programming skills and a robust problem-solving background.
• Experience designing, building, and shipping advanced graphical features and/or performance critical systems for game engines or real-time 3D applications.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
