What you will do

• Architect and build scalable core backend services including APIs and microservices for publisher onboarding, content management, entitlement, and billing.
• Design and implement testing, analytics, and ingestion pipelines for premium content with real-time usage tracking and billing insights.
• Lead architecture and infrastructure design supporting subscription models, pay-per-use billing, and licensing compliance.
• Drive engineering excellence through secure coding, deployment automation, and continuous code quality improvements.
• Plan implementation and releases with disaster recovery and rollback strategies.
• Champion system reliability and observability with telemetry, monitoring, and incident retrospectives.

Requirements

• Location: Must be based in Beijing, China for onsite work
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field with 4+ years engineering experience; 5+ years backend development experience.
• Expertise in C# or Python, microservices, event-driven architectures, and distributed systems.
• Experience with data processing frameworks (Spark, Kafka), cloud platforms (Azure preferred), Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with secure payment systems, API gateways, identity management, and AI/LLM integration.
• Strong architectural and scalability skills for high-availability AI-driven backend systems.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree or equivalent experience with 6+ years engineering experience.
• Experience with marketplace platforms, digital content monetization, and AI ecosystems.
• Knowledge of data privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA) and intellectual property protection.
• Understanding of LLM workflows and content licensing models.
