What you will do

• Apply AI and machine learning to improve news relevance, freshness, and authority.
• Design and build scalable, low-latency services for real-time news processing and user queries.
• Develop multi-modal news consumption experiences integrating text, images, podcasts, and video.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with program managers, designers, and news editors to deliver AI-powered features.
• Experiment with generative AI and large language models for summarization and conversational discovery.
• Continuously evaluate and improve models using data-driven insights and ground truth datasets.

Requirements

• Location: Must be onsite in Suzhou, China
• Bachelor’s degree with 4+ years or Master’s with 3+ years or PhD with 1+ year experience in relevant fields.
• Strong AI/ML background with 5+ years experience, including ranking systems, NLP, or multi-modal models.
• Proficiency in C++, C#, Java, or Python and familiarity with distributed systems.
• Experience building news products or recommendation systems.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and collaborate across disciplines.

Nice to have

• Advanced degrees with 6+ years or 3+ years post-PhD experience.
• Experience with LLMs, generative AI, or real-time content processing.
