Salary: $160,000–$240,000 plus equity

What you will do

• Design and shape the development of cutting-edge data platform solutions for millions of global sports fans.
• Prioritize, execute, and oversee core initiatives to drive innovation and ensure data platform reliability at scale.
• Cultivate a collaborative and innovative engineering environment focused on technical excellence.
• Advocate for and implement engineering best practices, ensuring a high-quality codebase.
• Partner with data scientists and engineering leads to define features and drive the development process.
• Research and iteratively implement emerging technologies into hirify.global’s data platform systems.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience building microservices heavy backend systems in a cloud environment (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Advanced proficiency with Python and SQL.
• Prior experience building recommendation systems and APIs for surfacing model outputs.
• Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, or ECS.
• Experience with real-time data processing frameworks such as Kafka, Flink, or Kinesis.
• Highly focused on delivering results in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.
• Must be based in the United States.
• May require sports betting licensure based on certain state regulations.

Nice to have

• Strong interest in sports.
• Experience with DevOps practices such as CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform, CDK).
