What you will do
- Design and shape the development of cutting-edge data platform solutions for millions of global sports fans.
- Prioritize, execute, and oversee core initiatives to drive innovation and ensure data platform reliability at scale.
- Cultivate a collaborative and innovative engineering environment focused on technical excellence.
- Advocate for and implement engineering best practices, ensuring a high-quality codebase.
- Partner with data scientists and engineering leads to define features and drive the development process.
- Research and iteratively implement emerging technologies into hirify.global’s data platform systems.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience building microservices heavy backend systems in a cloud environment (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure).
- Advanced proficiency with Python and SQL.
- Prior experience building recommendation systems and APIs for surfacing model outputs.
- Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, or ECS.
- Experience with real-time data processing frameworks such as Kafka, Flink, or Kinesis.
- Highly focused on delivering results in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Must be based in the United States.
- May require sports betting licensure based on certain state regulations.
Nice to have
- Strong interest in sports.
- Experience with DevOps practices such as CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform, CDK).
