What you will do

• Design and implement cross-platform matchmaking experiences, emphasizing player journey value and fairness.
• Develop and validate ranking and skill experiences, including creating formulas, mathematical estimations, and prototypes.
• Deliver and update world-class multiplayer experiences with a community-first approach.
• Collaborate with various teams (UX/UI, programming, production, community, analytics) to design, validate, and iterate on online multiplayer systems.
• Articulate, document, and present key pillars and philosophies of competitive multiplayer game system design trends.
• Foster and maintain collaborative relationships across all development disciplines to ensure a unified product vision.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience designing game systems with an emphasis on matchmaking or progression.
• 2+ years of experience shipping updates and new features to players regularly.
• Highly analytical, comfortable monitoring data streams and working with Data Scientists, Analysts, and Product Managers.
• Strong stakeholder management across various teams.
• Deep experience in Competitive PvP Games required.
• Experience with multiplayer matchmaking, telemetry collection/usage, and balancing large, interconnected systems.
• Demonstrated talent for empathizing with players and deep understanding of player motivations.

Nice to have

• Exposure to Mobile, F2P, Live Service, or broader Progression Systems.
• Interest in ranked and competitive play in Fortnite or other multiplayer games.
