Location: Onsite in London (Kings Cross & Farringdon offices). Candidates must live within a 60-minute commute.

What you will do

• Define the long-term roadmap and strategy for the privacy engineering function and team growth.
• Map the entire data ecosystem across Essential and the OS into a single source of truth.
• Drive the engineering backlog to close critical security gaps in access hygiene and encryption standards.
• Translate GDPR and global regulatory frameworks into concrete technical specifications in the codebase.
• Build risk-based guardrails to enable product teams to ship features fast without bypassing security.
• Collaborate with Design and Brand to create transparent privacy controls for users.

Requirements

• Deep technical fluency in modern cloud stacks (AWS/GCP), API architectures, and identity management.
• Proven experience applying privacy engineering to live consumer products.
• Background in privacy engineering, security architecture, or technical product management in data-rich environments.
• High sense of ownership and ability to resolve ambiguous technical requirements independently.
• Strong communication skills to bridge documentation between engineers, lawyers, and leadership.
