What you will do

• Resolve complex customer problems related to Ubuntu, Kernel, Ceph, OpenStack, Kubernetes, and other open source software
• Maintain close collaboration with field, support, and product engineering teams
• Participate in upstream open source communities and contribute bug fixes and patches
• Review code from other engineers and improve team processes and documentation
• Manage priorities and communicate clearly and technically
• Work remotely with occasional international travel up to 10% for team meetings and events

Requirements

• Remote role with teams in all time zones
• Exceptional academic track record in Computer Science, STEM or similar
• Experience with Linux and open source software
• Proficiency in at least one of Python, Go, C, or C++ on Linux
• Willingness to travel internationally up to 4 times a year

Nice to have

• Interest or willingness to learn Ubuntu Linux kernel or userspace, Kubernetes, OpenStack, Ceph, QEMU/KVM, LXC/LXD, PostgreSQL, Mongo, Debian packaging, distributed systems
• Strong communication and soft skills including curiosity, flexibility, and accountability
