TL;DR

Data Engineer (Application Software, Data): Develop highly reliable and scalable data pipelines and applications to support hirify.global's mission-critical systems including satellite constellation management and launch vehicle production with an accent on data ingestion, storage, and analytics. Focus on designing and producing solutions that enable rapid progress towards space exploration goals, working with large-scale data streams and collaborating across engineering teams.

Location: Hawthorne, CA, United States (onsite)

Salary: $120,000 - $170,000 per year

What you will do

  • Develop highly reliable and scalable data pipelines to empower engineers across hirify.global
  • Create new applications that improve business operations
  • Collaborate on architecture, design, and code reviews
  • Build prototypes to validate design concepts and technical constraints
  • Own all aspects of software engineering and product development
  • Analyze business problems and apply first principles thinking to find efficient solutions

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, data science, engineering, math, physics, or scientific discipline; OR 2+ years of professional software experience
  • 1+ years experience in full stack development, software engineering, data engineering, or data science
  • Active Top Secret or TS/SCI clearance required
  • U.S. citizenship or lawful permanent resident status required due to ITAR regulations
  • Willingness to work extended hours and weekends when needed
  • Location: Must be onsite in Hawthorne, CA

Nice to have

  • Experience with Python, C#, Java, Scala, Go or similar languages
  • Experience with big data processing tools like Apache Kafka, Spark, Flink, SQL
  • Experience with relational and non-relational databases and data lakes
  • Familiarity with data exploration tools such as Grafana, Jupyter Notebooks, Metabase, PowerBI
  • Some front-end experience with Angular, React, or similar frameworks
  • Good understanding of statistics and machine learning algorithms
