Build blazing-fast combat interfaces for a competitive multiplayer FPS. Join the veterans behind Call of Duty, Halo and Bioshock at Ironbelly Studios. You will architect performance-critical UI systems in Unreal Engine 5 that maintain 144+ FPS while supporting thousands of concurrent players.
This role is hybrid/remote but based in Montreal. Local candidates or those willing to relocate are prioritized. Relocation to Montreal is welcome and supported at the consideration level.
🚀 Responsibilities
• Architect performance-critical UI systems for a competitive shooter
• Build server-authoritative HUDs with client prediction
• Create instant-feeling inventory and loadout systems
• Integrate UI with gameplay systems: weapons, AI, progression
• Handle real-time combat data and spectator systems
• Support rapid iteration cycles required by competitive games
📚 Required Skills
• 3+ years of game UI programming
• Unreal Engine UI experience: UMG, Slate or similar
• Strong C++ skills for UI systems
• Blueprint or visual scripting experience
• 1+ shipped title
👍 Nice to Have
• Multiplayer FPS or competitive UI experience
• Expertise with UE5 UMG
• UI performance optimization for 60+ FPS
• Real-time data synchronization
• Platform certification knowledge
