Senior Full Stack Engineer (Java/JavaScript)

TL;DR

Senior Full Stack Engineer (Gamedev): Contributing to the delivery of scalable game technologies, tools, and services that accelerate products across the studio with an accent on secure-by-design coding, automated testing, and deployment. Focus on identifying opportunities to improve systems, supporting engineers, and resolving production issues.

Location: Hybrid (Cambridge, UK). Candidates must be based, or be willing to relocate, within a comfortable commuting distance of the Cambridge office to attend onsite as required.

What you will do

• Contribute to all areas of the Software Development Lifecycle, including secure coding, automated testing, code review, and deployment.
• Ensure solutions meet technical requirements and product needs through deep technical expertise and adherence to hirify.global standards.
• Be accountable for the quality of deliverables and provide on-call support for production issues.
• Support evaluation of off-the-shelf and in-house solutions for best fit.
• Help engineers break work into manageable, well-estimated stories.
• Identify and deliver system, service, and process improvements in collaboration with other teams.

Requirements

• Extensive experience delivering web applications or large software projects as a Senior Engineer.
• Proficiency in Java, including Java backend development and frameworks like Spring Boot.
• Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and experience with modern front-end frameworks such as React.
• Experience building and integrating RESTful services and publish-subscribe messaging systems.
• Experience with automated testing frameworks (unit, mock, and integration).
• Experience using AWS Cloud and working with managed AWS services.
• Experience with IaC tooling such as Terraform, and strong knowledge of version control and CI/CD systems (e.g., Git, Bitbucket Pipelines, Bamboo) and supporting tools (Ansible, Helm).
• Familiarity with microservices backend architectures.
• Proven experience communicating technical solutions effectively to non-engineering stakeholders.
