TL;DR

Senior Backend Engineer (Fintech): Lead the expansion and improvement of a Data Marketplace and integration engine processing millions of automated decisions daily. Focus on designing scalable backend components, API architecture, and operational reliability in a fintech context.

Location: Hybrid in Berlin, London, or Iasi office with no relocation support

What you will do

  • Design, build, and ship backend components in Python on AWS with fast and reliable CI/CD.
  • Own outcomes for the Data Marketplace, streamlining provider onboarding and integration rollout.
  • Set integration architecture and standards including API contracts, resilience patterns, and operational guardrails.
  • Lead projects from prototyping to production launch with clear documentation and stakeholder alignment.
  • Raise system reliability and performance through SLOs, tracing, metrics, and dashboards.
  • Mentor team members and promote best practices in system design and AWS usage.

Requirements

  • Must be fluent in English for effective communication in a hybrid environment.
  • Work from Berlin HQ, London, or Iasi hubs with no relocation support.
  • Strong engineering fundamentals with ownership and passion for quality and simplicity.
  • Prior industry experience with Python and public cloud providers, preferably AWS.

Nice to have

  • Experience with serverless and event-driven architectures.
  • Strong observability practices for distributed systems.
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted development and code generation.
  • Fintech domain exposure including KYC, credit bureaus, and fraud-prevention APIs.
  • Experience leading teams or projects.
