What you will do

  • Support and administer a high-load PostgreSQL database handling ~20,000 transactions per minute
  • Perform and maintain zero-downtime database migrations
  • Identify and resolve database performance issues and bottlenecks proactively
  • Collaborate with development teams on database architecture and query optimization
  • Configure and maintain PostgreSQL infrastructure on AWS using Terraform
  • Participate in incident and performance management and contribute to new database-related projects

Requirements

  • Remote work with preferred time zones GMT+1 to GMT+5
  • 3–5+ years of experience in software or data engineering
  • Strong PostgreSQL knowledge including query optimization, indexing, replication, and troubleshooting
  • Experience with large-scale data systems, ETL pipelines, or distributed backend systems
  • Hands-on experience with Linux, AWS services (Aurora, RDS, Redshift), and automation scripting
  • Basic understanding of CI/CD, Git, Docker, and Kubernetes

Nice to have

  • Experience with Kubernetes, cloud platforms, and microservices architectures
  • Ability to train colleagues on database best practices
