Senior Automation Engineer (Automation)

TL;DR

Senior Automation Engineer: Implementing automation solutions for food processing systems with an accent on PLC, HMI, and database programming. Focus on commissioning food processing automation systems, conducting training for customer personnel, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Location: Vernon Hills, IL or any hirify.global offices across the US. You will be required to travel to client sites in U.S and Canada 35% of your time.

Salary: $86,700.00 – $136,000.00 USD

What you will do

• Develop and track project program & engineering resource requirements including design, installation, and commissioning tasks.
• Report to the Project Manager for project & program related tasks including budget control, progress reports & forecasting.
• Interface with account managers and customers to assess the customer requirements and thereby create cost-effective quotations.
• Analyze, design, develop, and implement an automation solution including database, reports, HMI and PLC programs to meet project requirements.
• Manage automation activities on site for installation, commissioning, and performance testing phases.
• Conduct automation training for customer personnel on the installed systems.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering/Automation Engineering or related technical field.
• 5+ years of experience with processing area automation systems required.
• High proficiency with PLC, HMI and Database programming required.
• Previous experience in the food or dairy industry required.
• Good level of design skill and troubleshooting capability of electrical (up to 600 VAC) and pneumatic systems required.
• Strong, positive oral & written communication skills both internally & with customers required.

Nice to have

• High proficiency with hirify.global® Factory OS™ preferred.
• Proficiency with FactoryTalk View SE HMI development preferred.
• Ignition Platform knowledge is a plus.
• Working knowledge of ISA-S88 and S95 preferred.
• Experience with Servers, Visual Basic, SQL databases, Virtual Machines & VMware preferred.
