TL;DR

Systems Engineer (System Engineering): Develop and maintain large-scale DNS infrastructure and distributed systems with an accent on system resilience, scalability, and architecture improvements. Focus on designing complex features, debugging, mentoring junior engineers, and collaborating on product requirements.

Location: Hybrid in Austin, TX with ~2 days onsite and up to 3 days remote

What you will do

  • Design and implement medium-to-large projects and features for DNS infrastructure.
  • Write maintainable, well-tested code to improve owned systems.
  • Mentor and onboard junior engineers through code and design reviews.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and primary contact for assigned projects.
  • Debug and resolve complex system issues independently, improving resilience.
  • Collaborate with product teams to provide input on product requirements.

Requirements

  • Location: Must be able to work hybrid in Austin, TX.
  • 3+ years of professional experience in software or systems engineering.
  • Expertise in systems programming languages such as Go, Rust, Python, or C++.
  • Experience designing and building scalable, distributed systems.
  • Strong problem-solving and independent debugging skills.
  • Excellent communication and mentorship abilities.

Nice to have

  • Experience leading team meetings and technical discussions.
  • Contributions to technical documentation or open source projects.
  • Knowledge of DNSSEC, HTTP, TLS, and CDN networks.
  • Experience interviewing technical candidates.
