The PSP Onboarding Manager oversees the end-to-end merchant onboarding process ensuring a smooth, compliant, and efficient transition from sales handover to live payment processing. This role bridges the gap between Sales, Compliance, Risk, and Operations to ensure all new merchants meet regulatory standards and are set up for long-term success.
What you’ll do
- Lead and optimize the merchant onboarding process from documentation collection to account activation.
- Collaborate with Sales, Compliance, Risk, Legal, and Technical teams to ensure smooth onboarding workflows.
- Review and validate merchant KYC, KYB, and due diligence documentation, escalating discrepancies or risk issues.
- Coordinate internal sign-offs and approvals for new merchant accounts.
- Ensure merchant configurations, MID setups, and payment gateway integrations are completed accurately and on time.
- Track and report onboarding metrics (e.g., average onboarding time, completion rate, drop-offs).
- Maintain an excellent merchant experience, providing proactive communication and support throughout the onboarding journey.
- Identify process gaps, suggest automation opportunities, and work with the product/tech team to implement improvements.
- Support the rollout of new jurisdictions, verticals, and products by aligning onboarding processes with local regulations.
- Ensure compliance with AML/CFT and PCI DSS requirements.
- Train and guide junior onboarding specialists or analysts.
What you have
- 1 to 2 years of experience in merchant onboarding, client operations, or compliance within a PSP, Acquirer, or FinTech.
- Familiarity with payment flows, acquirer relationships, and transaction monitoring.
- Proven ability to coordinate cross-functional teams and manage multiple onboarding pipelines.
- Exceptional attention to detail and documentation skills.
- Strong communication and client-facing abilities.
- Experience with CRM / onboarding tools (e.g., Salesforce or custom PSP platforms).
- Analytical mindset with a continuous improvement approach.
Nice to have
- Experience with verticals (iGaming, crypto, forex, etc.).
- Experience with iGaming vertical is mandatory for this role.
- Knowledge of European, UK, or UAE regulatory environments.
- Exposure to API integrations or payment gateway setup.
