TL;DR

Lead Systems Engineer (System Engineering): Leading the systems-engineering lifecycle for a complex defense integration program with an accent on requirements definition, architecture, verification & validation, and risk management. Focus on integrating hardware, software, AI/ML, cloud, and HMI subsystems to achieve mission-level performance in a remote full-time role.

Location: Remote within the United States with possible relocation. Multiple office locations include Colorado Springs, Huntsville, King of Prussia, and Littleton.

Salary: $147,700 - $255,990 annually depending on location.

What you will do

  • Own the systems-engineering lifecycle for the Lead Systems Integrator domain, including requirements, architecture, V&V, configuration, and risk management.
  • Drive integration of hardware, software, AI/ML, cloud, and HMI subsystems to ensure mission-level performance.
  • Lead cross-functional teams including SEIT, Innovation-Insertion, and Advisory Board activities.
  • Support cloud and data-lake integration efforts within the Digital Production Environment.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to deliver high-quality, cutting-edge technology solutions.
  • Work remotely with flexibility and participate in periodic onsite meetings as needed.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen with Secret security clearance.
  • 8+ years systems engineering experience in aerospace/defense; 5+ years leading SEIT or system-of-systems initiatives on large programs.
  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field; MS preferred or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with MBSE tools (Cameo, SysML), requirements management (DOORS NEXT, Polarion), and verification/test frameworks.
  • AWS infrastructure knowledge and cloud-native interface understanding.
  • Strong skills in configuration management, risk management, and system integration.

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of AI/ML pipelines and their impact on system requirements and verification.
  • Experience integrating MBSE data with AWS Glue Data Catalog and DOORS NEXT.
  • Background in Command-and-Control and Unified HMI architectures.
  • Certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect Professional, CISSP, Lean Six Sigma Green Belt.
