What you will do

• Develop and maintain firmware for hardware components.
• Debug system-level issues across kernel to application layers and optimize firmware/software code.
• Integrate software components from multiple teams into a unified product code base.
• Develop and maintain Yocto Project-based Linux distributions and customize layers, drivers, and system configurations.
• Design and implement firmware unit testing and configure CI pipelines.
• Participate in design reviews to improve hardware system performance and reliability.

Requirements

• Location: Hybrid work in Lisboa, Portugal
• Master’s degree in Electrical, Electronic, or Software Engineering.
• 3-5 years experience in embedded software and systems development.
• Proficient in Python and C/C++ at application level.
• Strong understanding of real-time embedded systems and OS (Embedded Linux, Yocto-based OS).
• Experience with distributed systems, microservices, Docker, and REST API development frameworks.

Nice to have

• Basic awareness of cloud computing architectures.
• Experience troubleshooting hardware issues and providing technical support.
• Familiarity with IoT communication protocols (MQTT, 4G LTE, Nb-IoT).
• Experience with AWS services, especially IoT Core and S3.
