Embedded Software Engineer (UAV)

Location: Kyiv region, Ukraine; full-time onsite work in the office. Shuttle service is available from the nearest metro station.

What you will do

• Implement, maintain, and optimize autopilot firmware and the embedded firmware stack.
• Design, implement, and test new autopilot, flight-control, and navigation functionalities.
• Export algorithms from Matlab and Simulink and integrate them into the autopilot framework.
• Develop and optimize BSP, peripheral, and external sensor drivers for real-time operating systems.
• Build and maintain firmware for flight tests, support testing, and analyze post-flight data.
• Create unit tests, debug and trace code, maintain firmware updates and bootloaders, and support production tools.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in software engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field.
• Several years of embedded-systems experience and senior-level expertise in designing, implementing, and optimizing embedded systems.
• Strong knowledge of ARM and Cortex-M microcontrollers, real-time operating systems, and UART, I2C, SPI, CAN, and Ethernet interfaces.
• Experience with FreeRTOS or uCOS II, including multithreading, task scheduling, and inter-task communication.
• Ability to bridge hardware and software, understand electrical constraints and schematics, and use hardware resources efficiently.
• Experience with Git, GitLab, collaborative development, and agile methodologies; English at least B2.
