Backend Engineer

TL;DR

Backend Engineer (Backend): Building and optimizing high-performance systems for industrial-scale platforms with an accent on distributed architectures and cloud infrastructure. Focus on rapid iteration, full-cycle feature ownership, and scaling core services to support fast business growth.

Location: Must be based in or relocate to London, UK (6 days per week in-person)

Salary: £200,000 per year

What you will do

• Ship production-grade code from day one in a high-growth environment
• Own end-to-end feature development from technical specification to final delivery
• Scale core backend infrastructure to support increasing customer demand
• Collaborate across the stack to solve complex engineering and scaling challenges
• Support teammates and customers through direct impact and technical contribution

Requirements

• Must be able to work 6 days per week in London
• 2+ years of engineering experience with production-grade code
• Strong backend expertise with APIs and distributed systems
• Proficiency in Python, TypeScript, Go, or Rust
• Experience with relational or graph databases and containerization
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (AWS and Pulumi preferred)

• Previous experience in early-stage startups
