Senior 3D Character Artist (Gamedev)

TL;DR

Senior 3D Character Artist (Gamedev): Creating fully developed high-poly characters and advancing real-time technology and pipelines. Focus on sculpting, texturing, importing models into game engines, and mentoring junior artists.

What you will do

• Create high poly models of characters, monsters, clothes, body parts, and accessories.
• Texture models under a PBR pipeline.
• Import models into the game engine and support other teams.
• Participate in concept stages and develop design ideas.
• Support the entire character creation process through to game release.
• Mentor junior colleagues and plan task distribution for milestones.
• Interview candidates for Character Artist positions and help build character creation workflows.

Requirements

• 5+ years in AAA game development as a Character Artist.
• Proficient in sculpting, modeling, and texturing.
• Extensive knowledge of Maya/Max/Modo, Substance Painter, and Marmoset baker.
• Strong understanding of PBR principles.
• Good skills in Zbrush and Photoshop.
• Basic knowledge of game engines, preferably Unreal.
• In-depth knowledge of character production pipelines.
• Ability to work creatively in teams.
• Upper-Intermediate English required.
• Experience with version control systems (SVN/Perforce) and bug trackers (Jira or similar).

Nice to have

• Experience in animation.
• Knowledge of real-time hair creation pipelines and 3D grooming skills.
• Experience creating materials in Substance Designer.
• Experience preparing scanned models for character creation.
• Scripting skills in Max/Maya or external tools.
• Strong eye for light, shade, color, and texture detail.
• Experience with modular character systems.
• Knowledge of face creation techniques.
• Fluency in English.
