Research Engineer / Research Scientist (AI)

TL;DR

Research Engineer (AI): Building large-scale ML systems from the ground up with an accent on making safe, steerable, trustworthy systems. Focus on improving throughput and efficiency, running and designing scientific experiments, or improving our dev tooling.

Location: Expect to be in one of the following offices at least 25% of the time: New York City, Seattle, or San Francisco.

Salary: $350,000 - $500,000 USD

• Touch all parts of the code and infrastructure.

Requirements

• Significant software engineering experience.
• At least a Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• Results-oriented, with a bias towards flexibility and impact.
• Pick up slack, even if it goes outside your job description.
• Enjoy pair programming.
• Want to learn more about machine learning research.
• Care about the societal impacts of your work.

Nice to have

• High performance, large-scale ML systems.
• GPUs, Kubernetes, Pytorch, or OS internals.
