Software Engineer II (Python)

TL;DR

Software Engineer II (Python): Building and enhancing web services and applications for the Shadow Health team with an accent on the Learning Management System. Focus on solving moderate complexity software engineering problems, implementing new features, and improving existing ones.

Location: Hybrid role, combining in-person collaboration with remote flexibility. Expected to participate in regular team meetings and engineering rituals in Mexico City.

What you will do

• Collaborate with the Tech Lead to solve moderate complexity software engineering problems.
• Build new features and enhance existing ones for the Learning Management System.
• Review code from other engineers and provide constructive feedback.
• Complete simple bug fixes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams for high-quality delivery.

Requirements

• 3+ years of Software Engineering experience.
• 3+ years of Python web development.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent.
• Experience with TypeScript, JavaScript, NodeJS, React, and SQL.
• Ability to work with simple data models.
• Familiarity with agile software development methodologies and test-driven development.

Nice to have

• Ruby web development experience.
