What you will do
- Take full ownership of backend services from design through deployment and ongoing maintenance
- Develop scalable, high-performance distributed systems using Python and Django
- Architect services to handle millions of users with low latency and high availability
- Implement and manage robust APIs, data pipelines, Kafka-based event streams, and caching layers
- Collaborate with product, frontend, and DevOps teams to meet ambitious timelines
- Conduct code reviews, mentor junior engineers, and uphold coding standards
Requirements
- 5+ years of backend development experience with Python
- Solid experience with Django and asynchronous programming (asyncio)
- Experience with Apache Kafka in production
- Strong understanding of microservices and distributed systems
- Proficiency with SQL databases (especially PostgreSQL)
- Experience with Docker; Kubernetes is a plus
