Staff Software Engineer (Web, Esports Platform): Build out complex web applications that support the esports ecosystem across Riot's Esports Ecosystem with an accent on web and frontend technologies. Focus on improving Riot Esports engagement and retention by creating unmatched experiences on our web properties and player facing projects.
Location: Los Angeles, USA
Salary: $192,500.00 - $269,400.00 USD

What you will do
- Partner closely with Design to create and iterate on well crafted user experiences
- Build out complex web applications that support the esports ecosystem across Riot's Esports Ecosystem.
- Influence and shape our vision for web technology at Riot.
- Build out our web properties, work with our partner teams and platforms to bring experience to life.
- Quickly iterate on prototypes and new areas to find feasible solutions for the products we are building
- Mentor & Grow newer Engineers in their Software Engineering journey
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience with Frontend Technologies
- Deep hands-on programming experience with Typescript, React & CSS-in-JS paradigms
- Real-Life Experience using modern Web Frameworks, such as NextJS, Astro or SvelteKit
- Understanding of and experience with GraphQL
- Demonstrated examples of setting engineering policy and standards across a company
- Understanding of accessibility standards and guidelines (e.g., WCAG)
Nice to have
- Serverless & Edge environments are something that excites you
- Mentorship experience within a company
- Experience working with advanced GQL topics, such as Subscriptions and Federation
- Knowledge of Javascript Animation with libraries such as Framer Motion or GSAP
