Backend & DevOps Engineer (Medusa, Node.js/TypeScript)

Location: Remote, hybrid, or office-based work available in Austria, Azerbaijan, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Georgia, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, or the Netherlands.

Salary: EUR 2700–4550 per month gross; final compensation depends on experience, location, and professional growth.

What you will do

• Evolve a Medusa-based commerce backend with custom modules, data models, module links, API routes, workflows, and Admin customizations.
• Implement B2B features including company accounts, customer groups, customer-specific price lists, quotes, approval flows, and bulk ordering.
• Integrate ERP, CRM, PIM, payment, fulfillment, and back-office systems using workflows, event subscribers, and scheduled jobs.
• Design, build, and deploy AI agents and tools through Medusa APIs and workflows.
• Own cloud infrastructure with PostgreSQL, Redis, containerized server and worker instances, CI/CD, and infrastructure automation.
• Identify manual bottlenecks, automate them, and write clean, tested, secure code.

Requirements

• 5+ years of backend development experience with Node.js and TypeScript.
• 1+ year of hands-on production experience with Medusa, preferably v2, including custom modules, the Workflows SDK with compensation logic, subscribers, and Admin customizations.
• Practical B2B e-commerce experience with price lists, customer groups, company accounts, quotes, or approval flows.
• Experience integrating third-party systems such as ERP, payment, fulfillment, CRM, or PIM platforms using event-driven or asynchronous patterns.
• Production experience with PostgreSQL and Redis.
• Experience with Docker, CI/CD pipelines, at least one major cloud provider such as AWS, GCP, or Azure, and infrastructure as code.
• English: Upper-Intermediate or higher.

• Deploying and scaling Medusa with separate server and worker modes.
• Kubernetes.
• AI integration, LLM workflows, or autonomous AI agents for business processes.
• Next.js storefronts or multi-platform frontends.
• GraphQL API design and Medusa plugin development.
